a) Communication –
Basically teaching is communicating with the students. Therefore, a teacher is supposed to transfer the knowledge with the help of communication which is a two-way process. In this process, the model essentially takes into the consideration of a feedback. By feedback, it means that as teachers you need to understand or check whatever is communicated to the learners is understood by them or not.
If a learner cannot be able to understand then you need to modify or change your teaching practices by using certain innovative or creative skills. A teacher should be aware of the facial expressions or gestures or body movements in effective teaching method. Demonstration as part of the teacher training course is encouraged actively to make the teachers stay advanced of the modern learning approaches. In a classroom, teachers demonstrate how to conduct various experiments, how to draw figures or how to play medical instruments. The idea of practical demonstration helps students to learn the skills and acquire confidence regarding the same. In addition to that, a teacher should be able to demonstrate the various social skills and practice the socially accepted behavioural patterns – that would encourage young learners to stay imitate and stay motivated. The reason is because students learn by observing.
c) Creating conducive study environment –
Classroom environment should be such that the child should feel motivated to concentrate their attention on learning. The atmosphere should be democratic and free where children should be willing to ask their difficulties and express their curiosity about issues related to the subject matter. This would not only facilitate the regular classroom learning but also favour for higher cognitive processes like creativity and originality.
d) Directing and guiding –
When the learners learn, it is essential for the teachers to direct their efforts and guide them on how to reduce unnecessary pressure. In the teacher training course, use of various tricks to facilitate the learning and memorising process is noted by using new creative things – known as ‘mnemonics’. Creative posters, flashcards are a few examples which define the entire process of participating in an enjoyable and interesting activity.
e) Evaluating and promoting –
One of the basic responsibilities of a teacher is to assess a student’s performance and give due credits. As a result, evaluation needs to be done objectively and it should be equal for every student without any bias practice. However, the process of evaluation is not just fetching assessment but preparing questions as per the basic evaluation principles.
